Where were you October 29th? In case you missed it USG Student Event Board organized a party celebrating the Fall, Halloween, and our Shady Grove spirit. This year’s Octoberfest was decidedly the best event ever hosted in the history of USG, an exaggeration? Perhaps. One of my most awesomely fun and exciting memories with my friends on campus thus far? YES!
When Octoberfest comes to mind I imagine funny Germans in lederhosen merrily clanking mugs of pilsner and gorging on pretzels and sausage, and true to the name, our delicious food and treats along with funky costumes transformed the Green Grove Café into a get-up-and-dance party for the ages. Students danced, laughed, and set their inhibitions aside to have a fun time. At the photo booth you and your friends could capture the moment with a silly pose. The DJ kept the party alive with top 40 hits with tracks from Pitbull, Jeremiah, Kesha and more. With the music setting the beat to a hilarious game of musical chairs, senior pride clashed with junior assertion, watch the video to see who wins.
Winding down the festivity was the hardest part. To have competed in the miniature basketball shot competition, danced like a Saturday night in D.C., eaten five pizza slices, snacked on cookies and treats, and made new friends within the campus student body it was all too sad to see it come to a close. On behalf of the revelers I would like to thank USG Student Event Board, SLA, and SEIPH for the smashing success of 2014 Octoberfest. Let’s all chant for a repeat “we want more, we want more!” Stay connected with all up-coming student events at the shady grove Facebook page.
love this!
