Midterms, we meet again.
Not gonna lie, these last few weeks have been brutal. From Health Policy, to Kinesiology, to Epidemiology, to Biology, midterm after midterm, I am one tired girl. Yes, I’m at that point in the semester. You know– motivation is at an all-time low, sweatpants are being reintroduced into the wardrobe, and the countdown until Thanksgiving break is the only thing keeping me sane.
Fear not, fellow students. We will survive! If you’re having trouble getting out of your mid-semester slump, here are some tips to revitalize.
- Have a KICK-BUTT Workout!
Nothing gets me more excited to take on the world like a blood-rushing, endorphin pumping workout session. Get some physical activity in the mix. It’s easy to neglect physical health when midterms make their way back into our lives.
- Clean
Declutter your surroundings, declutter your mind. I work best when my room is spotless. I feel like cleaning helps me refocus, and feel satisfied that at least some part of my life is organized.
- Take a Well-Deserved Break
Yes, I said well-deserved. Whenever I read a book for fun during the school year, I feel so guilty knowing I should probably be reading a textbook instead. But, hey! It’s healthy to take a break from being a student. Besides, hours of studying are most effective with short breaks in between. Here are my favorite things to do when I need a mini break.

Stay strong, USG! Thanksgiving will be here soon!
