Yesterday, I went to the FREE Flu Shot Clinic right here on campus hosted by Montgomery County Health & Human Services. As a public health science student, I was very happy to see all the USG students, faculty and staff lined up, ready to get vaccinated. Though, there was one thing that did displease me.
My name is Dilani, I’m 21 years old, and deathly afraid of blood, needles, injections. . .
Basically, pointy things being shoved into my arm make me want to cry. I know this awful weather brings out awful germs and makes everyone awfully sick, and I know vaccines help protect me and everyone around me. Still, there isn’t enough rationale in the world to prepare myself to receive a vaccination in a graceful manner.
Though I was afraid, I did what I needed to do to, to make sure I keep myself healthy this flu season! Yes, I did it. No, I did not look.
Now, let’s look at some brave people who are better at being adults, and taking injections without having to look away.

Awesome students from The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy helping out at the Free Flu Shot Clinic.
So, yes, this post is for my fellow wimps out there. Now is the time! This is your not-so-friendly reminder to man up! Or woman up! Just get up, and get your flu shot soon!
