There comes a time when we all wish to get away and start over somewhere new, a clean slate, a new beginning.
Having lived in the same area for the majority of my life, I’ve had the itch to live somewhere new for quite a while. The question is, where? Graduation day will be here before I know it and it’s time to start thinking about the big move.
Some people desire the faced paced city life, flashing lights, and crowded subways. Others seek the country side, with wide open spaces and wrap around porches. For me it’s that fresh ocean air, the bonfires and rows of palm trees. I’m talking about California.
It’s always been a daydream of mine, a mirage that seemed unreachable. Then suddenly, it became possible when my mom made the decision to move to San Diego. I am still in awe that she will be headed there by the end of this week. This gives me the opportunity to live with her after graduation, look for a job, and even hunt for grad schools. Graduation will be a life changing event, and whenever there’s a big change in my life I like to go all in, come May 2016, I will be saying my farewells to Maryland.
In the mean time, I’ll be sitting here counting down the days, California dreaming.
I just moved from San Diego in September, lived with some family downtown in Little Italy. You are going to love it and are never going to want to leave. Trust me.
