Melany

Hi everyone! My name is Melany Claros and I am currently a junior at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG).

I was born in Takoma Park, MD and moved to Germantown just before I turned two years old, and I have been living here ever since! I recently graduated from Montgomery College with an associate of arts in Business and am now majoring in Marketing at UMD’s Robert H. Smith School of Business on the USG campus. I am also working on a minoring in Technology Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation. In both of these programs and through my experiences at USG, I hope to expand my knowledge in marketing analytics and strive to obtain an internship where I can gain relevant experience in the Marketing field.

Some topics I plan to write about include struggles that first-generation college students face (especially in the perspective of Latinx households), imposter syndrome, and fun hobbies like hiking, new books I think people should read, new music discoveries and much more. During my free time I enjoy reading, listening to music, discovering new coffee shops, and spending time with my friends and family.
