Hello friends! My name is Chelsea Little and I am a first year UMBC Industrial Organizational Psychology master’s student here at Universities at Shady Grove (USG).
In undergrad, I was a Psychology and Writing Interdisciplinary Major, and spent a lot of my time toying with my two fields. When I wasn’t tutoring, I was working on “A Guide to Writing in Psychology” with my friends, and when I wasn’t doing that, I was traveling all over Maryland to see everything I could and explore. During my time in undergrad, I ended up publishing that guide my friends and I worked on as a school resource, joining the D1 Rowing Team for a year, tutoring at the school’s Writing Center, hanging out on the slopes with the Snowboarding Club, helping one of my friends start and run a local Her Campus chapter, and leading the events teams for a few other clubs. I tried to do whatever I could get my hands on.
Now, as I enter graduate school, I hope to bring the same gusto to anything I find interest in. Outside of the USG blog, I work as a USG Writing Center Tutor and DSS Test Proctor. I also work full-time at the Opioid Treatment Program at Sheppard Pratt, and own the cutest tortoiseshell kitten the world has ever seen (her name is Reese). I have big plans for this year, highlighted just slightly by the season pass I have to a few local ski lodges and my newly found appreciation for local breweries.
I am excited to see what new experiences and activities USG can offer to me, and “squeeze the sponge” (as my mom likes to say) here at USG as I did at my undergraduate program. And I certainly cannot wait to take all of you with me, in a literary, blog sense, on the various adventures I tend to find myself in!
