Movie Night! 🎥

I went to the movies the other night, and it had me thinking about how there are some good movies out right now. Movies are one of my favorite ways to de-stress for a bit before jumping into a big assignment or after writing a two page paper the night before. So if you’re looking for some downtime, check out these movies and their ratings on rotten tomatoes!

Kung Fu Panda 4 🐼

In this movie, Po must train a new warrior when he’s chosen to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. I loved this movie as a kid, and can’t wait to watch the new one!

Madame Web follows Cassandra Webb, an NYC paramedic who begins to demonstrate signs of being clairvoyant. I have yet to see this movie, but being a part of the Marvel universe, I bet it is amazing!

Bob Marley: One Love 🇯🇲

Biography/Drama 1hr 44m

This film follows reggae legend Bob Marley in the late 1970s. He’s already nationally famous when the film begins, as he sets to play a controversial peace concert in Jamaica. I recently saw this movie and have been telling everyone to go watch it! I love his music!

Mean Girls 🎀

Musical/Comedy 1hr 52m

70%

This movie is based on the 2004 film and 2018 Broadway musical. A homeschooled teenager moves from Africa to the United States, where she attends high school and befriends two outcasts, but plans to join a popular clique. I have yet to see the new adaptation, but would love to rewatch the old one before seeing this!

Also, don’t forget if you’re a college park student, check out these movies in the Hoffman Theater for free! Have a great weekend and watch a movie! 🙂

About Ashlynn Battle

Hello everyone! My name is Ashlynn Battle, and I am a junior at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD), at the Universities of Shady Grove (USG). I was born in, ironically, the Shady Grove area, and have lived throughout the Germantown/Gaithersburg area my entire life! I recently graduated from Montgomery College with an Associate’s degree in Business, and I am currently studying Marketing at UMD’s R.H Smith School of Business at USG. I am currently working for the Montgomery County Recreation Department, where I lead about 20 elementary school children through an afternoon of recreational activities. I enjoy going out to eat, hanging out with friends and family, traveling, drawing, reading, writing, and listening to music. Although my current favorite thing to do is take my four-year-old energetic Maltipoo to the dog park!
