Ambassadors Take Over Leadership Bash

While this is only my second semester at The Universities at Shady Grove, I have already been able to observe the way that this campus excels at providing a variety of student life activities, for both educational and recreational purposes.

As evident by the types of events hosted, USG also goes above and beyond to celebrate students’ achievement on campus. This time, I had the pleasure of attending the annual Leadership Bash on April 21st hosted by the Office of Student Services. This event is held annually for students currently enrolled in a program at USG who demonstrate service and leadership on campus.

The Leadership Bash had a variety of crafts, games, and delicious food. In addition, all the student leaders received a special gift and recognition of our involvement at USG. While the yummy food is a strong contender, I will have to admit that the best part of attending the event was having the opportunity to spend more time with my fellow ambassadors.

I can recall all the way to the beginning of fall semester when I was starting out as a new, shy ambassador, slowly learning all the unique facts of USG while also learning all the names and faces of the other ambassadors. One or two semesters can make a quite difference considering the journey we have all taken together since the beginning.

A quick smile while passing through in the hallways has now turned into endless conversations and laughter between the ambassador family.

I can only imagine what next year holds in store for our amazing program!
