Going The Extra Mile

This past weekend, I was going to run my first 5K. Though I signed up in July, and had months to practice, I did not prepare myself whatsoever for this mission. Thankfully, Hurricane Joaquin made it so I didn’t have to crawl my way around RFK stadium. Yes, my lazy self let out a sigh of relief when I opened the email that said the 5K was postponed.

BUT, another opportunity has come my way.

There’s a 5K coming up right on campus!

A 5K that I will actually prepare for.

The USG Costume 5K Race is in 23 days. Grab your friends and sign up at the Rec Center today! The run will take place on:

Wednesday, October 28th from 4:00 – 5:30

There’s a $2 entry fee and proceeds will benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Inc.

If you’re anything like me, and feel like exhausted at the thought of running, this Costume 5K is a great way to motivate yourself to get moving! Getting fit with friends, wearing fun costumes, and raising money for a good cause– what more could you ask for? There’s still plenty of time to sign up (and start training) so get to the Rec Center, sign up, and get active.
