Big blue veins swell up beneath my skin, my heart feels like thunder pounding deep into my chest, my lungs struggling for every breath. Muscles burning like coal, the sweat runs like a wild river, and I plummet to the ground.
This was my first workout on The 21 Day Fix. Nice to meet you 2015.
Don’t let the headline fool you, this isn’t some 21 day fad diet or a cleanse, nor is it some kind of quick fix.
This program is based on the idea that it takes 21 days to build a healthy habit.
The 21 Day Fix package includes DVDs, shakeology, and a set of colored containers.
Each color represents a different food group: Red=Protein, Green=Veggies, Purple=Fruit,Yellow=Carbs Blue=Healthy Fats,Orange=Grains. I use the containers to portion out my meals and make sure that I’m getting the right amounts of food every single day. I work out for only 30 minutes a day in the comfort of my own home, and I drink Shakeology. Lastly, to keep hydrated I drink one big jug water per day.
This combination health plan is getting me closer to my fitness goal by the day. I’m now on day 10 and have lost 3 pounds, developed toned abs, and gained energy and strength. I’m also becoming a better cook and saving money on eating out.
Here are some of my favorite 21 Day Fix recipes.
I’ve got 11 days to go and am so excited for my final results, but I won’t stop there. Just because the 21 days are up doesn’t mean I’ll go back to my old eating habits.
Health is a lifestyle change, and that means it’s a commitment, a promise to yourself that you keep for the rest of your life, and that is my ultimate goal.
