Trisa

Hello, my name is Trisa Saha, and I am a junior at the University of Maryland College Park at the Shady Grove campus pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Science. I was born and raised in Bangladesh, immigrated to the United States in 2016, and lived in New York for three years before moving to Maryland. I graduated from Montgomery College in May 2024 with an Associate of Arts in Information Science and Systems.

As an information science major, I am fascinated by how technology and data shape our modern world. My academic journey has been a winding path, but each experience has strengthened my passion for understanding and applying technology to solve complex problems. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new restaurants, reading fiction novels and baking.

I plan to write about topics like balancing part-time work, full-time studies, and extracurricular involvement as a college student, as well as sharing my experience transferring from community college to a four-year university. Another topic I’d like to explore in my posts is “What I Wish I Knew Before Starting College,” based on the invaluable lessons I’ve learned over the past two years. Through the Around the Grove student blog, I hope to offer insights and perspectives that can help both current and prospective students make the most of their college experience.
