Hello everyone! My name is Li-Wei Tung, and I’m a senior in the Biological Sciences program at the University of Maryland, College Park on the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) campus. I was born in Taiwan and I’ve been living in the United States for over three years now.
Academically, I’m proud to serve as a BioSci Program Ambassador and as the Secretary of Grovers Without Borders. I’m passionate about expanding my knowledge in science and aspire to pursue a career in research. Through my contributions to the Around the Grove blog, I plan to explore a variety of topics, including movie and music recommendations, strategies for managing stress, delicious food finds, must-visit places, and the challenges and cultural differences faced by international students, among others.
In my free time, I love photography and often visit museums in Washington, D.C. A few fun facts about me: I’ve moved eight times and attended eleven different schools to this day. Additionally, I take pride in my extensive collection of postcards, magnets, and coins from all the places I’ve traveled. Interestingly, I weighed 8.6 pounds at birth!
I am absolutely thrilled to start this journey as a student blogger and sincerely hope that my posts will provide you with fresh insights and enjoyable content. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to share my experiences with all of you!
