As my first year at USG comes to an end, I’m thinking back on the amazing journey I’ve taken since arriving on campus. A year full of struggles, victories, and priceless lessons that have molded me into the person I am today has passed. Being a first-generation college student, I consider every opportunity I’ve had at USG to be a gift. I was welcomed by a community of classmates, instructors, and staff right away, and they have helped me along the journey. Their advice, support, and faith in my abilities have been crucial to my success.
I would like to use this opportunity to thank my peers, who have evolved from being my fellow students into people who inspire and support me. We’ve worked through homework, tests, and late-night study sessions together, sharing our successes and hardships along the way. I could not have accomplished half of what I did this year without their continuous support. In retrospect, I’m pleased with the efforts and accomplishments I made while attending USG. Every success I’ve had, whether it be in extracurricular activities, academics, or personal development, is a result of my commitment and diligence. Beyond celebrating in the past, nevertheless, I also consider the work that still needs to be done and the objectives I still have to pursue.
I’ve learned from this experience that discipline is more important than motivation, even though motivation is important. It’s the everyday dedication to turning up, working hard, and maintaining focus on my objectives despite difficulties. Discipline is the key to transforming potential into achievement and ambitions into reality.
I am greatly grateful for the people, opportunities, and experiences that have enhanced my journey as I say goodbye to my first year at USG. I take the knowledge I’ve gained and my will to adhere to my disciplined goal-chasing strategy going forward. Cheers to the close of one chapter and the start of another, may they be full of even more development, success, and learning.
PS: good luck with finals, we got this!!!
