Hello everyone! My name is Quynh (pronounced like “Quinn”). I graduated in 2015 from the University of Maryland, College Park (Go Terps!) with a degree in Biology and am now a P2 at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy at USG.
Much of my time in pharmacy school is spent studying, watching lectures, and working up patient cases – all in the hopes of one day becoming an amazing pharmacist and patient advocate!
But honestly, I’d go completely insane if all I did in school was stuff my brain with information about drugs. So I also spend a good chunk of my time planning events and doing outreaches through awesome student organizations like the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP). It’s a great way to both take a breather from my studies and make a positive impact on my community.
And when things with school get a little too stressful and I’m feeling overwhelmed, all it takes is an episode of Friends or I Love Lucy to make everything better. Laughter really is the best medicine – take it from a future pharmacist!
In my spare time, I also enjoy…
- hanging out with my best friends. Now that we’re all busy with grad school, though, this doesn’t happen nearly as much as I’d like.
- playing the piano (and sometimes attempting to sing along at the same time).
- learning to cook Vietnamese dishes from my talented mom, the best home cook there is in my biased opinion.
- improving my Spanish. Traveling to Central America twice this past year definitely helped!
Choosing to come to USG is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love practically everything about this small, yet energetic campus that I’ve started to call my second home, from its wonderfully diverse student body to its always warm and inviting atmosphere.
I am so glad that you’ve discovered this blog and am beyond excited to share with you my experiences this year “Around the Grove!” Enjoy!
