I was born in Silver Spring, MD, and grew up in Damascus, a small farm town in Montgomery County, MD. I am an only child, but I have six step-siblings! When I’m not in class, studying, or at work, you can find me multiple places: playing soccer, hiking, traveling, reading, spending time with my friends, or jogging with my pup, Ruby.
This past summer I lived outside of Cusco, Peru, teaching English to children and young adults. I spent over 4.5 weeks in Peru and had an amazing time. I was able make an impact on various children in the village we lived in, improve my Spanish skills, and visit Machu Picchu! Since returning from my trip, I have begun my application for a Fulbright teaching scholarship for the 2018-2019 year in Colombia. My trip to Peru inspired me to pursue another teaching role in a Spanish speaking country. Wish me luck!
I am so grateful that I am able to take my classes at the USG campus. I love the small class sizes and the close knit campus community. USG has allowed me to get involved on campus and meet people in different majors. Since we also have graduate programs, I am highly considering continuing my education by pursuing a M.A. in Publications Design
through the University of Baltimore
