Hi there! My name is Linda Velasquez and I am currently a senior in the Salisbury University Exercise Science Program at USG. What brought me to the Universities at Shady Grove? I’m glad you asked! I started my academic career at Montgomery College in Rockville studying engineering. After a couple of semesters, I felt like something was missing…my passion!

During the first year of school, I started to get into nutrition and fitness and I found that I had a love of the human body and how it works. I looked into possible related programs at Montgomery College and I found an articulation program that feeds into USG. This was it. After two years at Montgomery College, I transferred to Salisbury University at USG.

This experience has been tremendous so far. As I work on finishing my degree, I am also involved in the community. I am currently a field hockey coach at a local high school and the co-founder and owner of Fierce Field Hockey. I enjoy mentoring and coaching high school athletes as well as volunteering with youth field hockey and rugby events.

After earning my degree, I am planning on attending grad school and pursuing a career in clinical exercise physiology. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge about USG! I can’t wait to show all of the ins and outs of the Exercise Science Program and how it can be the right fit for you!
