Hello Everyone! I hope everyone is having a great start to the 2024 Spring semester!
My start of the semester has had an intriguing start. In one of my classes, we were asked to take a personality test, and I wanted to share with you the different personality types and traits that make up a person, and their habits. I ended up having one of the rarest personality types, and found the whole topic interesting. Many of you have probably taken a test like this once in your life. However, if you are unaware, the Myers-Briggs type indicator is a self report questionnaire testing psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. If you want to know your MBTI, click the link below, and let’s get into it!

To find out your personality type, it goes by four different acronyms and here’s what each of them stands for:
E or I for Extraversion or Introversion (where you focus your attention)
S or N for Sensing or Intuition (the way you take in information)
T or F for Thinking or Feeling (how you make decisions)
J or P for Judging or Perceiving (how you deal with the world)
For reference, here is what each letter indicates about your personality.
E: This person typically gets energized from larger social settings and can be described as outgoing and talkative.
I: This person typically enjoys smaller social settings and values connection in all aspects of life. This person can be described as reserved and private.
S: Sensing indicates the person uses a factual way of thinking commonly described as thinking with your head.
N: Intuition can be described as thinking with your heart. People who lead with this typically see the bigger picture and make connections figuratively.
T: Can be described as being level-headed, because this person usually values fairness and doesn’t mind debating in an argument with logical reasoning.
F: This person is usually empathetic and makes decisions based upon personal morals, while leading with harmony and forgiveness.
J: This person is very detail-oriented and values deadlines and organization. When making plans, they want to know what they are getting into.
P: This person is more spontaneous and leaves their options open, seeing rules and deadlines as flexible.
The most common personality type is ISFJ, which is introversion, sensing, feeling, and judging. The rarest is INFJ, which is introversion, intuition, feeling, and judging. I thought it was pretty cool to know why I act the way I do sometimes, and know that understanding your type can greatly help you in group assignments, team projects at work, and allow you to understand other people and their intentions!
